The Facebook Phone To Arrive With 4.3-Inch Display, 5MP Rear-Facing Camera, (More?) – [RUMOR]

Following the company sending out invites to its next media event, (set to be held at its headquarters in Menlo Park, East Palo Alto), on Friday, AndroidPolice this evening claims to have stumbled upon a leaked ROM, which, it says, may give some indication as to the hardware (and software) features Facebook’s highly-speculated about smartphone might carry.

Expected to be manufactured by HTC, and set to be available through U.S carrier, AT&T, according to the report the smartphone’s internal codename is thought to be “MYSTUL” (or Myst_UL).

If the leaked ROM the report is based on can be trusted, ‘The Facebook Phone’ could arrive with a MSM8960 (Dual Core) processor and 1GB of built-in RAM. Externally, the device is expected to feature a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 720p resolution, and the handset is highly-expected to hit the shelves running Android OS 4.1.2.

On the camera front, Facebook’s entry into the smartphone market is reportedly set to arrive boosting a 5-megapixel rear-facing shooter and a slightly less-desirable 1.6-megapixel front-facing shooter.

According to the report, the handset will arrive with no support for extending memory via an SD card slot, will feature all the normal Wi-Fi bands (a, b, g and n), and will (of course) feature support for the upcoming, battery-conserving Bluetooth 4.0 standard.

The handset is expected to be unveiled by the company, Thursday.
