The Verge is reporting that Google may have let its next product announcement – the Nexus 5 – slip a little earlier than planned, this week.
The 13-megapixel smartphone was reportedly spotted in a recent commercial for Google’s Android 4.4 (Codenamed “KitKat”) operating system, and is now expected to arrive featuring a 5.2-inch HD 1080p display, that is powered by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor.
“The employee in question is holding what looks like a new Nexus device, with the rear of the device featuring a horizontal Nexus logo — just like the new Nexus 7— and a matte finish and large camera lens that hasn’t appeared on any existing Nexus devices. The mystery device also includes an LG logo at the rear, meaning the two companies may be collaborating on another Nexus handset,” the publication reports.
Internally, the Nexus 5 is expected to feature either 2GB (or 3GB) of RAM, (which is surely set to rival Samsung’s just announced Galaxy Note 3), alongside carrying all the necessary networking goodness to fully support LTE connectivity, and a 2,700 mAh battery for extended usage time.
iClarified reports that the video published by Google was originally taken down, (presumably upon the company’s realization of the mistake), but a copy of the original video can now be viewed here.
An official release date for the product was not shared.
