As promised, Apple over the weekend extended the retail availability of its two latest smartphone handsets – the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus – to 42 additional countries and territories.
The flagship devices launched in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan – on Friday (Oct 9), before also becoming available to customers in Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates – last Saturday.
iPhone 6S features a number of improvements over its predecessor, the mainstay of those being the introduction of 3D Touch – a new way to interact with the iPhone’s glass display via the use of pressure, and the second iteration of the company’s Touch ID fingerprint authentication sensor which is now able to read and unlock at lightning speeds.
