The BBC reports that Samsung has launched a completely FREE music service for its handsets, this weekend. Putting 200 radio stations and 13 Million songs in users’ pockets, Milk Music may have some iOS users out there questioning if they actually need iTunes Radio.

That is, if it wasn’t for the fact that Milk Music is currently confined to Samsung’s range of “Galaxy” smartphones.

With Milk Music, Samsung says that you instantly hear music you love – and what you didn’t even realize you’re into – with the turn of a dial. No charge. No fuss. All music.

“We feel that while the music space is very competitive there is room for improvement,” Vice President of Music at Samsung Media Solutions, Daren Tsui, said.

Samsung has confirmed its new streaming service, powered by Slacker, will be free to download for listeners and arrive with no adverts (at least, for the time being). Meanwhile, Apple’s free-to-listen (ad-supported) music-streaming offering – iTunes Radio – is seeing a steady, albeit slow roll-out to other world regions, with the service currently only available to those in the U.S and Australia.

Get “Milk Music” on Google Play.
